Hutchinson Correctional Facility

Poole Fire Protection designed an automatic sprinkler system to retrofit an attic area at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility for Cell Houses A, B, C, D and the Rotunda Building.

Engineering services included water supply testing; site surveys to verify existing conditions; coordination with correctional staff members to achieve maintenance friendly design; specification of equipment suitable for suppression system and existing water supply characteristics; investigation of existing fire alarm system for support of new water flow and tamper switch monitor points; dry pipe sprinkler system design (NFPA 13), including underground lead-in (NFPA 24); and preparation of hydraulic calculations.

Additional services included bid assessment; shop drawing and equipment submittal review and approval; site observations during testing; witnessing of final system check out procedure; review of the operating and maintenance manual; and record drawings.
