We have four Fire Protection interns and one Business Development intern. We look forward to working with them and helping develop tomorrow's professionals.
James Surber is a Fire Protection Intern from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is a senior in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology at Oklahoma State University. Jimmy is a member of the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department and the Fire Protection Society.
Rebecca Bennett is from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is in the fourth year of her Architectural Engineering degree at The University of Kansas. Rebecca is the co-chair president of the Architectural Engineering Institute at KU and is a member of the engineering honors society Tau Beta Pi.
Ben Craig is a junior at Oklahoma State University from Uniontown, Ohio. This is his second year as an intern with us. Ben's major is Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology. He is the president of the student chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, the treasurer of the Fire Protection Society, and a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department.
Alyssa Steffen is a senior from Winfield, Kansas, majoring in Strategic Communications at The University of Kansas. She is the president of the KU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
Drew Poole is a junior in Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. Drew is from Spring Hill, Kansas. He belongs to the National Fire Protection Association and the Silver Spring Fire Department as a Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician. The son of Jack and Laura Poole, Drew has been officially interning for the past four summers, but has been participating in the family business his whole life.
Kansas State House Renovations Poole Fire Protection designed sprinkler and fire alarm systems for the renovation of the Kansas State Capitol Building in Topeka, Kansas.
Allen Fieldhouse & Memorial Stadium The university requested that Poole Fire Protection draft the drawings and specifications needed for the automatic sprinkler and standpipe system, fire pump system, and fire alarm system.
Hutchinson Correctional Facility Poole Fire Protection designed an automatic sprinkler system to retrofit an attic area at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility for Cell Houses A, B, C, D and the Rotunda Building.
Seaton Hall & Paul Weigel Library of Architecture Poole Fire Protection, Inc. provided code consulting to the KSU Facility Management personnel and the KSU Architectural Department to verify that the uses meet all local and state regulations.
